Daily Reading for MTS 2026 - Story 1

 

एक छोटे से कस्बे में रहने वाला राहुल हर सुबह अख़बार पढ़ने की आदत डाल चुका था।
Rahul, who lived in a small town, had developed a habit of reading the newspaper every morning.

एक दिन उसकी नज़र “संविधान दिवस” से जुड़ी एक ख़बर पर पड़ी।
One day, his eyes fell on a news item related to “Constitution Day.”

उसे याद आया कि संविधान दिवस हर साल 26 नवम्बर को मनाया जाता है।
He recalled that Constitution Day is celebrated every year on 26 November.

यही वह दिन है जब 1949 में भारतीय संविधान को अपनाया गया था।
This was the day when the Indian Constitution was adopted in 1949.

राहुल ने सोचा कि यही विषय उसकी परीक्षा के लिए भी बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है।
Rahul thought that this topic was also very important for his examination.

संविधान की प्रस्तावना उसे सबसे ज़्यादा आकर्षित करती थी।
The Preamble of the Constitution attracted him the most.

प्रस्तावना भारत को एक संप्रभु, समाजवादी, धर्मनिरपेक्ष और लोकतांत्रिक गणराज्य घोषित करती है।
The Preamble declares India to be a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular and Democratic Republic.

उसे यह भी याद आया कि “समाजवादी” और “धर्मनिरपेक्ष” शब्द पहले प्रस्तावना में नहीं थे।
He also remembered that the words “Socialist” and “Secular” were not originally in the Preamble.

ये शब्द 42वें संविधान संशोधन अधिनियम, 1976 द्वारा जोड़े गए थे।
These words were added by the 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1976.

इसी कारण 42वें संशोधन को “मिनी संविधान” भी कहा जाता है।
For this reason, the 42nd Amendment is also called the “Mini Constitution.”

राहुल ने नोट किया कि इसी संशोधन से मौलिक कर्तव्यों को भी जोड़ा गया था।
Rahul noted that Fundamental Duties were also added through this amendment.

मौलिक कर्तव्य नागरिकों को देश के प्रति उनके दायित्व याद दिलाते हैं।
Fundamental Duties remind citizens of their responsibilities towards the nation.

उसे समझ आया कि अधिकार और कर्तव्य दोनों एक-दूसरे के पूरक हैं।
He understood that rights and duties complement each other.

अख़बार में हाल ही में सुप्रीम कोर्ट से जुड़ी एक ख़बर भी थी।
There was also a recent news item related to the Supreme Court in the newspaper.

उसे पता था कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट भारत का सर्वोच्च न्यायालय है।
He knew that the Supreme Court is the highest court of India.

संविधान के अनुच्छेद 124 से 147 तक सुप्रीम कोर्ट से संबंधित हैं।
Articles 124 to 147 of the Constitution deal with the Supreme Court.

राहुल ने महसूस किया कि इस तरह की जानकारी अक्सर SSC MTS में पूछी जाती है।
Rahul realized that such information is frequently asked in SSC MTS exams.

उसने तय किया कि वह रोज़ एक GK कहानी पढ़ेगा।
He decided that he would read one GK-based story every day.

उसे लगा कि कहानियों के ज़रिये पढ़ी गई बातें ज़्यादा समय तक याद रहती हैं।
He felt that concepts learned through stories stay in memory for a longer time.

उस दिन राहुल ने आत्मविश्वास के साथ अपनी पढ़ाई समाप्त की।
That day, Rahul ended his study session with confidence.

उसे यकीन था कि सही दिशा में किया गया प्रयास उसे सफलता दिलाएगा।
He was confident that efforts made in the right direction would lead him to success.
