  ๐Ÿ“˜ North-Eastern Council (NEC) – Explained in English & Hindi ๐Ÿ”ท In English: The North-Eastern Council (NEC) was established by the North-Eastern Council Act, 1971 passed by the Parliament of India. Unlike the other five zonal councils created under the States Reorganisation Act, the NEC is a statutory advisory body specially designed to focus on the development of the 8 North-Eastern states – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim. Although the Zonal Councils are only deliberative and advisory , they play an important role in inter-state cooperation , particularly in infrastructure, communication, and law and order.
