Explanation (English)

In India, political parties play a major role in elections. Every recognized political party has a unique election symbol that helps voters identify the party on the ballot paper or EVM.

Election symbols are allotted and controlled by the Election Commission of India under the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968.

Political parties in India are categorized into:

  1. National Parties

  2. State Parties

  3. Registered (Unrecognized) Parties

Conditions to become a National Party

A party becomes a national party if:

  • It gets 6% valid votes in 4 or more states, and 2 Lok Sabha seats, or

  • It wins 2% Lok Sabha seats from at least 3 states, or

  • It is recognized as a state party in 4 states

व्याख्या (Hindi)

भारत में राजनीतिक दल चुनावों में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। प्रत्येक मान्यता प्राप्त राजनीतिक दल का अपना चुनाव चिन्ह होता है, जिससे मतदाताओं को पहचानने में आसानी होती है।

चुनाव चिन्हों का आवंटन और नियंत्रण भारत निर्वाचन आयोग द्वारा Election Symbols Order, 1968 के तहत किया जाता है।

भारत में राजनीतिक दल तीन प्रकार के होते हैं:

  1. राष्ट्रीय दल

  2. राज्य दल

  3. पंजीकृत गैर-मान्यता प्राप्त दल

राष्ट्रीय दल बनने की शर्तें

किसी पार्टी को राष्ट्रीय दल का दर्जा पाने के लिए:

  • उसे 4 या अधिक राज्यों में 6% वैध मत और 2 लोकसभा सीटें मिलें, या

  • उसे 3 राज्यों से 2% लोकसभा सीटें मिलें, या

  • वह 4 राज्यों में राज्य दल के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त करे
